“Carry on Mummy” is all about the daily life of an Indian housewife and mother with puns “intended” against the hypocrisy of our patriarchy.

I dedicate it to the largest unpaid labour force of the world, The Home Makers. Ladies, we are in this together and I believe in the power of “us”. If we can keep our families healthy, alive, screaming, active, sane and together while keeping our own sanity intact, trust me, there’s nothing in the world we can’t achieve! And it’s the everyday light hearted moments amongst the chaos that keep us going. In the end, it’s how we just laugh it all out no matter what life throws at us, put on our lipstick and get ready for the next day!

Over the decades, the saree may have made an appearance on many-an-unconventional stage, but to be a regular on a stand up comedy stage – that’s a rarity, wouldn’t you say?! Trust stand-up comic Harpriya Bains to break conventions whether through her wit and wisdom, her career or her wardrobe choices.
I don’t know if “Carry on Mummy” is officially a special but this show is definitely special to me as it’s my first “one hour set” and I lovvvveee to perform all these jokes every single time with the same excitement.
