If you still remember the first Awarapan with its raw energy, Shivam’s pain, the music that haunted you.
Now, after years of waiting, it’s real: Awarapan 2 is live, shooting in Bangkok, and Emraan Hashmi is stepping into Shivam’s shoes again.
Shooting Begins in Bangkok
On September 29, directors Nitin Kakkar and writer Bilal Siddiqui raised the curtain on the sequel’s first schedule in Bangkok, complete with a mahurat puja to bless the journey ahead.
Producers and fans alike celebrated like a festival, not just any other announcement. It’s a promise kept.
Emraan’s Comeback
This marks a rare moment of pure joy for fans. After a string of box office misses — Ground Zero being the very recent one — Emraan is returning with one of his most iconic roles.
He’s had flops before like Why Cheat India (2019) and The Body (2019) among them yet none could erase how films like Murder 2, Jannat, The Dirty Picture built his legacy.
So this feels like redemption, not just a sequel.
What We Know: Cast, Crew & Vision
Emraan Hashmi is back as Shivam Pandit, the voice and soul of the original.
Disha Patani joins as lead, reportedly bringing a fresh spark.
The film is produced by Vishesh Bhatt, continuing his longtime collaboration with Emraan.
Target release: April 3, 2026
A Note of Optimism
Yes, Bollywood loves a comeback story. But Awarapan 2 isn’t just about nostalgia. It’s Emraan declaring he’s still here. He’s not hiding behind supporting roles anymore. This is him, front and center, with fire in his eyes and faith in his fans.
If this works — and I believe it will — we might just see the Emraan of Murder 2 and The Dirty Picture reborn for a new generation.
